HOW LARGE ARE THE GROUPS YOU SEND?
It varies, but the minimum size is 6 and the maximum is 20 people.

WHAT TYPES OF ACTIVITIES WILL WE DO ON THE MISSION TRIPS?
Activities will vary based on the focus and mission of each of the teams. We have teams who go to do specific hands-on projects such as construction, digging water wells or making repairs. Other teams focus on ministry to orphans, teens, widows or people in the community. Each team will likely spend some of their time building relationships with the children by playing sports, games and doing arts and crafts. We attempt to serve the local orphanage directors and the needs of the communities where the team will go.
WHY ARE THERE DIFFERENCES IN THE COST OF THE TRIPS?
There are many variables in trips and each trip is uniquely priced. Of course, length of stay will determine some of the costs … but the two larger variables are where you go (transportation) and what the humanitarian or project needs are.
IS THERE A REGISTRATION FEE?
A $100 fee is required with all applications in order to hold space on that team. The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

CAN I RAISE SUPPORT FOR MY MISSIONS TRIP?
Yes! We encourage all our team members to raise funds from churches, friends and families. Adoption Ministry is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and donations given on your behalf are tax deductible. An individual’s name cannot appear anywhere on the check but must be accompanied with a donation card provided by YWAM.

DOES ADOPTION MINISTRY OF YWAM PURCHASE INSURANCE FOR TEAMS?
No. Travel insurance is the responsibility of each team member. Please be informed that if there is an interruption to the mission trip due to a natural disaster or political upheaval and the travel insurance does not cover all expenses incurred, Adoption Ministry is not responsible for the payment of these additional costs. Adoption Ministry will work with each team member to get them home safely, but the team member will be expected to pay for all extra expenses.
WILL I NEED TO GET VACCINATIONS TO TRAVEL ON AN ADOPTION MINISTRY MISSION TRIP?
Adoption Ministry of YWAM advises all travelers to read the US Department of State website for Ethiopia-specific information on travel. Travelers can also check the latest health information with the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention to get the most recent health advisories, immunization recommendations/requirements, and advice on food and drinking water safety. We also suggest that all participants consult their physician before traveling internationally. Immunizations will depend on where in Ethiopia you will be traveling.
You will need a signed document from your physician for all medications brought into the country. This includes prescription as well as OTC medications.
WHAT DOCUMENTS WILL I NEED TO PROVIDE TO GO ON A MISSION TRIP?
Each team member will need to sign a release of liability form, a background check consent form, a copy of the cancellation policy, proof of travel insurance, and a copy of their passport. The expiration date on your passport needs to be a minimum of three months past the last day you’ll be in-country. The necessary forms will be provided by your Missions Director or team leader.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY FOR ADOPTION MINISTRY MISSION TRIPS?
Application deposits of $100 are non-refundable and non-transferable. If a team member cancels after airline seats have been booked, there will be an additional $300 cancellation fee.
In the event that a team member cancels their trip and other costs have been incurred, that person will be responsible for all financial commitments that have been made, including but not limited to: airline tickets, hotel reservations and in-country transportation.
CAN DONATION CHECKS BE REFUNDED?
If a team member cancels or cannot continue on a scheduled mission trip, donations can be applied to a future mission trip or the funds can be returned to the donor. Trip expenses such as airfare, hotel reservations or other in-country services that have already been paid cannot be refunded.
